The Birmingham Jewish community is proud to partner with Jewish Future Pledge, a worldwide movement working to ensure that vibrant Jewish life continues for generations to come. It calls on all Jews to make a pledge that half or more of the charitable giving in their estate plans will support the Jewish people and/or the State of Israel. Whether you’re leaving $10 or $10 million to charity in your will, you can be a part of securing Jewish life for future generations.
Together, the Jewish Future Pledge and the Birmingham Jewish Foundation, along with the Temple Beth El Foundation and Grafman Endowment Fund for Temple Emanu-El, will advance a shared vision and commitment to secure a vibrant Jewish future, sparking critical intergenerational conversations about Jewish values and proliferating a culture of legacy giving.
Right now, there is an unprecedented opportunity to secure the funds necessary for a vibrant Jewish future. Over the next 25 years, a mind-boggling $68 trillion will transfer to the next generation, with $6.3 trillion allocated to charity. We estimate that 20 percent of this allocation or 1.26 trillion charitable dollars will be given from Jewish donors.
By taking the Jewish Future Pledge, you can help ensure that more than $600 billion is set aside for Jewish causes when wealth is transferred from this generation to the next.
Together, let’s pledge to make a difference now and into the future. LEARN MORE

WHAT ARE PLEDGERS SAYING?
SUSAN & RODNEY BARSTEIN
"L'dor v'dor. From generation to generation. Our parents taught us about philanthropy at a young age. It really did not mean anything to us at the time. Now I totally understand and want my children to learn the lessons our parents instilled in us. Our commitment to the pledge gives our children the road map to continue the legacy."
MICKEY & STANLEY RUBENSTEIN
"As trees were planted for us, so shall we continue to plant for the future. It is a privilege to be able to participate in this worthwhile endeavor."
JIMMY & SHERI KRELL
"We and our entire family have benefitted from the work of our parents and grandparents who helped build the foundation for a strong Jewish community in many parts of the US and Israel. This has shaped who we are, what we love, and a pathway for an ethical and fulfilling life. We want to pass this on to our children and future generations."
ROBERT & FREDA CENTOR
"As Jews, we are part of a huge family. We feel strongly that supporting our Jewish family is a core value. We pledge to value the moral obligation of Tzedakah by contributing to our family's future. Supporting our Jewish community and Israel is both an act of love and obligation, one that we do with pride and joy."
